Culturally Relevant Approaches to Classroom Management - Adapted for JAE

Classroom management is one of the most challenging issues in multicultural education. Techniques and approaches to classroom management must be modified to meet the academic, sociocultural, developmental, moral, and ethical needs of ever-increasingly ethnically diverse school populations. The following topics are discussed: sociocultural issues in classroom management, prerequisite skills and useful strategies for managing multicultural classrooms, and implications for Christian teachers. A "Cultural Assessment Questionnaire" and "An Annotated Diversity in the Classroom Reading List" are included.
