Is God Coming to Campus Too? Thoughts on the Distinctive Features of Adventist Higher Education

This article is an adaptation of Dr. Andreason’s Fall Semester 2005 Convocation speech delivered September 1, 2005 on the campus of Andrews University. Andreasen argues the necessity of Christian colleges and universities offering their students a unique, distinctive Christian perspective throughout their learning experience rather than some version of mere Christianity. He presents “waiting expectantly for God” as the distinctive mark of Seventh-day Adventist Christian education. He explores several aspects of this distinctive feature and how it is applied in practice.
