Peer Tutoring - Mentoring Students to Become Master Teachers
Research and practice show that peer tutoring works. The multigrade classroom is an ideal fit for peer-tutoring programs. Structured lessons, flexibility of design, scaffolds such as prompt cards and role plays, students' use of mathematical language, and the development of positive interdependence all make peer tutoring in mathematics class practical and user-friendly. This article provides helpful suggestions on building a peer tutoring program in your classroom.
