Citizens of Two Worlds - Religion and Politics among American Seventh-day Adventists

This book is based on a study conducted within the Seventh-day Adventist denomination, which explores the concept of the relationship between politics and religion. The book presents research on the historical relationship of religion and politics in general, and also the relationship of specifically Adventism and politics over time. The authors attempt to relate these findings to the intersection of Adventism and politics today. The authors' own research surveyed 419 Seventh-day Adventist adults in the United States to find information on their religious attitudes and behaviors, their political attitudes and behaviors, and demographic information. The authors explore each of these aspects in turn, and then they explore the relationships among them to determine the relationship between Seventh-day Adventists and politics in the U.S. The book closes with a discussion of the implications of the research findings in the Adventist church.
