Making Science a Delight

Sally Dillon writes about a dynamic science teacher, Lowell Russell Litton, and the timeless techniques he has used to captivate and motivate his students at Shenandoah Valley Academy Elementary School. In an innovative way Litton makes sure his lessons allow students to utilize their observation skills through hands-on learning. In his classes he also trains collectors and develops effective habits of mind. For teachers, he encourages developing a personal mission statement, learning about students' temperaments, and encouraging creativity.
