Strategies for Integrating Faith in Mathematics
This article's philosophical basis is that mathematics is an integral part of God's creation and an understanding of its concepts will lead to discerning spiritual truths in mathematical principles, relationships, and processes. By doing this, teachers will be able to assist students in learning personal habits of order, accuracy, precision, and balance, all keys to a successful life. Information is presented in four clusters: contextual, illustrative, conceptual, and experiential. Within each cluster, various strategies are employed to help students attain the concepts of order in math from a biblical perspective. Strategies used include: tactical, ornamental, environmental, analogous, narrative, exemplary, thematic, evaluative, personal, interrelational, and declarative.
