Biblical Hermeneutics and Headship in First Corinthians

This paper is focused on the headship passages in 1 Cor 11 and 14 in the light of the “Methods of Bible Study” document, which has been taken as the fundamental exposition of Seventh-day Adventist hermeneutical method to be followed in the study of the theology of ordination. It summarizes some of the key aspects of the hermeneutical method that can be utilized in approaching the passages in Cor 11 and 14. At the end the author considers implications for the church’s practice and draws conclusions regarding the appropriate direction for the SDA Church to take based on this hermeneutical method and corresponding interpretation.
