Campus Beautification

The beauty of a campus enhances the learning and worship experiences of its students. This article discusses the history of beauty and aesthetics especially in relation to the learning environment. Focus is given to the ancient beauty spots, medieval and 18th century landscape concepts, the Jeffersonian concept, the importance of creating a sense of space, and developing a new awareness of landscaping. The second half of the article presents campus beautification guidelines to consider, addressing such issues as design concept, environment, aesthetics, framework, landscaping, and responsibility.
