Constructivism and Christian Teaching
Are the assumptions underlying constructivism compatible with Christian values and practice? Archer notes the importance of teachers understanding the philosophical underpinnings of educational theory and practice. After a brief historical overview, he contrasts traditional and constructivist views on the nature of reality, the role of experience, the place of meaning and understanding, the role of instruction and of assessment.
