Designing Online Tests: The Role of Assessment in Web-Based Learning

Are online tests as reliable and valid as paper and pencil tests? This article describes some of the benefits of online testing and identifies ten special considerations for web-based testing. Also included are three tables: Checklist for Multiple Choice Items; Checklist for True-False Items; Checklist for Matching Items.
