JAE Editorial: What About Science?

This editorial is part of a special issue on Adventist thinking about science and its teaching in denominational schools. James Hayward states that the pursuit of scientific knowledge through research can be carried out under the presupposition that God exists and is the Creator of the universe. He notes that while many Adventist Christians embrace applied science in the areas of technology and medicine, the vast majority remain suspicious of pure science and its assumptions. The viewpoints and opinions presented are garnered from a panel of Adventist scholars and reserachers in the field of science.
