Teaching the Tough Topics

In this article Goodwin asks the provocative question: "How can the Adventist educator help students deal with the difficult issues while preserving intellectual integrity and enhancing faith in God and His word?" Goodwin encourages teachers to be honest, respectful, and engaged in helping students find faith in the study in science. He focuses on three crucial questions most students struggle with: Can I do good science, informed by a biblical point of view? How do I deal with the concept of evolution? How can I interpret the fossil record and geological time periods within a biblical framework? Answering these questions requires personal engagement from both students and teachers.
