Teaching History Truthfully
Gary Land addresses the problem of misinformation and factual error in today's history textbooks. This occurrence often results in neglect of entire perspectives in history and a distortion of past events in an effort to depict certain nations favorably. In order to help teachers avoid perpetuating a picture of history that has little or no relation to reality, Land shares common criticisms of textbooks, insights on bias, and discusses the necessity of truth-telling, including general rules and resources for truth-telling.
