Getting Action Into Phonics

Shirani de Alwis-Chand describes action phonics and shows how music, rhythm, and movement can be used to enhance memory. Discussed are the essential features of action phonics: breath control, pointer control, verbal clues, exaggerated articulation, vowel flash cards, trade-a-syllable, and other features. Attention is given to research on the effectiveness of action phonics in regular and non-traditional classroom.
