How Should the Christian Teacher Relate to Politics and Social Issues?

Does Adventist education have a social obligation? In addressing this issue, Christ's example and teaching and Ellen G. White's example as a social reformer are discussed. Christians face the dilemma of "dual citizenship", belonging to the kingdom of God and a kingdom of this world. Historical trends are presented. Social gospel, secular ecumenism, diaconia, theology of hope, and theology of liberation are current trends in the greater church involvement in socio-political questions. The kingdom of God on earth concept and the evangelism and social responsibility relationship are examined. With circumspection, the Christian teachers should show social concern.
