Technology and General Education

Students must gain knowledge about the design and function of technological systems in order to understand technology and control it for everyone's benefit. Education needs to become more technologically relevant. As general education attempts to train students to understand and solve humanity's most urgent problems, it must deal with science and technology as well as the liberal arts. The university serves as a center for innovation and creation and as an agent for change. Innovative problem solvers are needed to confront the ethical principles needed for decision making. Course development ideas are presented.
