Teaching the Older Student with Learning Disabilities
Teenagers' incomplete homework, behavior problems, and bad attitudes are often coverups for academic difficulties. The following should be taken into account when working with older students: feelings of frustration, bypass strategies, teaching previously unlearned or underlearned academic processes and information, and the teacher's training. Teachers should develop a diagnostic mind-set and take responsibility for each student's learning. From the JAE dyslexia and learning disabilities issue.
