Grief Recovery Pyramid

There can be a vast difference between the grieving process useful in preparation for one's own death and grief recovery that is effective for the survivors of loss. The Kubler-Ross work has been landmark in helping individuals prepare to die with dignity. The Grief Recovery Pyramid, on the other hand, is designed to help survivors move through grief recovery successfully - even gracefully. We all experience loss and we can recover from our losses. Effective recovery doesn't just happen on its own but it is a process that can be learned. Strategies for engaging in effective grief recovery are included as well as tips for helping children handle loss in this presentation given at the 2006 NAD Teachers Convention.
