Teacher Evaluation From a Choice Theory Perspective
This article discusses prevalent teacher evaluation models (formative clinical supervision, and summative performance evaluation), both based on a top-down or boss-management, which ignore the most important points of an effective evaluation process, the recipient's input and involvement in self-evaluation. Glasser's Choice Theory is discussed, highlighting internal control, lead management, and the WDEP model, based on these simple questions:
1. What do you WANT?
2. What are you DOING?
3. EVALUATION, or, is it working?
4. What is your PLAN?
