Beyond Study Units and Artifacts
How do educators help students feel comfortable about cultural differences? In this article, the concept of effectively planning for and integrating cultural education into the classroom and beyond is developed through discussion of Eisner's Formula of Description, Interpretation, Evaluation, and Thematics. Other areas covered include shaping perspective, developing appropriate classroom climate, and creating God-centered awareness.
