The Seventh-day Adventist Curriculum and Instruction Resource Center Linking Educators (CIRCLE) is a clearinghouse sponsored by the North American Division Office of Education and supported by the General Conference Office of Education. CIRCLE is administered through the Andrews University School of Education and hosted at Walla Walla University.  Christian educators on every continent have contributed resources for education from a biblical worldview.

Here are frequently asked questions and answers about CIRCLE

Who is CIRCLE for?

CIRCLE currently links to over 7,000 publications, online resources, and Adventist teacher-created materials in 320 categories for:

  • Pre-school, elementary and secondary teachers serving in Adventist, Christian, private, public or home schools
  • Christian principals, superintendents, school board members and other administrators needing easy access to quality administrative tools
  • College faculty and teacher educators wishing to link their students to Christian resources in their specialized areas of study

How do I Find Resources on CIRCLE?

Online, there are two basic ways to find resources in the CIRCLE database: browsing and searching. The method, which will be most efficient for you, depends on what you are looking for, the information you have, and--to some extent--on your personal preferences.

Browsing allows you to see the contents of the CIRCLE database, structured by subject or topic. This is most useful when you are "just browsing" and do not have a specific resource in mind.

For example, if you are a history teacher, you may want to start by picking the Social Studies entry in the subject menu. This will show you the categories within social studies, as well as give you some general social studies resources. If you were then interested in geography resources, you would click on World Geography in the categories box. This will show you specific resources dealing with geography.

Searching, on the other hand, allows you to see a custom generated list of resources which match your query. The quick search on every CIRCLE page, allows you to quickly look for a resource matching a specific set of words, a phrase, or an author. However, there is another way to search the resource database which provides even more control over search criteria. If you would like to be able to search based on the URL, publisher information, grade level, or other resource properties, try the advanced search option.

Can't Find it Through CIRCLE?

CIRCLE's service is linking educators who have resources with those who need them, anytime, anywhere, using whatever communication form works best -- phone, fax, email or online.

Why Contribute to CIRCLE?

CIRCLE invites Christian educators to submit resources that support Adventist education at any level, in any subject, topic, language, or world region.
